Finally a Brunch Post

We finally get to post about Alice Teacup, our first brunch posting!! Together!! Alice Teacup has three locations so it is a very delicious and convenient spot for good eats.

Brunch in the city on weekends are usually crowded and hard to deal with because of the long wait. We had about a 45 minute wait or so also - when I arrived, I saw all these Greek parade goers pass by but also noticed some people going in and out of Alice. I decided to pop in and put my name down - good thing too because not only was it already crowded in the restaurant itself because of a baby shower upstairs but it was a weekend brunch hotspot. Several people gave up - which was good for us.

KA arrived not long after I did and we chatted a bit, waiting for Barb. When she finally arrived, we checked and we still had a way to go so the host/hostess took our number and we went off to Starbucks for a coffee warm up.

Not long after we got our call and we walked right back. The kitschy decor was really nice if you like the whimsical look. The mismatched china was another nice touch. But the tables and chairs are way too close together.

We squeezed into the spot and proceeded to look at the menu. Finally we picked out the marteanis...

Peach Mimosa

The pretty peach mimosa was pretty good - according to Barb and KA - a bit sweet but still decent.

Berry Punch
Berry Punch was a bit too sweet even though it tasted pretty good but it is not great. I should have picked something else for sure.

Originally I was going to pick a crepe but I decided to get the same thing as KA and so we both ended up with the benedict scone.

Benedict Scone
The Benedict Scone is made of eggs benedict over a savory scone, hollandaise sauce, and chicken hash. It was super delicious and filling. The chicken hash is superb with perfectly seasoned potatoes and chicken. The hollandaise was a perfect accompaniment with the eggs and scone. I would definitely eat this again.

Barb went for a buttermilk scone with eggs but the scone was just absolutely delish. Scones are absolutely delicious from Alice - especially their ginger-blueberry scone - so definitely hit them up when those are made!

As for me - I had to get their chocolate chip scone for breakfast the next day. It was absolutely delicious. I love clotted cream and their jams are awesome!!
